The president of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Dr. Farouk Rabi’u-Mudi has condoled with the family of Dr. Salim- Saleh Muhammad, the president of the Wheat Farmers Association of Nigeria (WFAN) who passed on Sunday.
Mudi, who disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of NIgeria (NAN) on Monday, described the loss as “an irreparable loss and sad development”.
According to the statement signed by Rabi’u-Mudi, late Muhammad was a global farmer of renown who believed in the future of Nigeria’s agriculture sector.
Mudi added that the late WFAN president was his mentor and a father to all.
“He is my mentor. He introduced me to the activities of the association and helped so much during our struggle to rescue AFAN. Also, he was a member of the seven-man committee that named AFAN,” he said.
The president, on behalf of the association, extended his condolences to loved ones, family and friends, the WFAN and the entire people of Kano, where he resided.
NAN reports that the late WFAN president, who died on December 25, 2022, after a brief illness, was buried same day in Kano, according to Islamic rites. (NAN)
