The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has strongly urged Nigerians to report individuals soliciting money for employment to law enforcement agencies. The commission clarified that it is not a recruiting agency but rather tasked with ensuring fairness and equity in matters of employment, infrastructural facilities and socio-economic amenities across all geo-political units of the federation.

The director of public affairs and communication, Dr. Chuks Okoli signed the statement on behalf of the commission’s executive chairman. He emphasised that the FCC’s primary role is to ensure that employers and service providers, especially in the public sector, act ethically in fulfilling their responsibilities.

The commission urged the public not to fall victim to fraudulent schemes promising employment through the Federal Character Commission. Any requests for financial inducements under the disguise of offering employment through the FCC should be promptly reported to law enforcement or the commission itself.

It is important for Nigerians to be vigilant and report any such activities to protect themselves and others from exploitation and fraudulent practices.
