The Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika has called for Nigeria and Qatar to maintain a sustainable relationship, as emphasized by Nigeria’s desire for investments and commitment to its ease of doing business policy.

A statement released by James Odaudu, the ministry’s head of press and public affairs, said Sirika made the remarks in Abuja on March 27, 2023, during a courtesy visit by the Charge d’Affaires of Qatar, Ahmed Mohammed Y.E Al-Hor.

Sirika highlighted Nigeria’s attractive investment climate, citing a 34 per cent rate of return, which he claimed is the highest in the world for a population of over 200 million people. He also noted that Qatar, with its abundant oil and gas resources, presents investment opportunities for Nigerian businesses. Nigeria, on the other hand, has the necessary infrastructure to facilitate smooth business operations.

However, Sirika acknowledged that the visa policies of both countries need improvement, as they are hindering closer ties. He urged Nigeria and Qatar to work towards enhancing their visa policies to promote ease of movement and business operations between both nations.
