L-R: The former Minister of State for Transportation, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki, Minster of Transportation, Mr. Mu’azu Sambo, Minister of State for Transportation, Mr. Ademola Adegoroya, and permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Magdalene Ajani during the handover ceremony at the ministry in Abuja.

The new Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo, has promised to actualise the infrastructure development agenda of the Muhammadu Buhari administration in the ministry.

Sambo, who was speaking during the hand-over ceremony by the former Minister of State for Transportation, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki, yesterday at the minister’s office in Abuja, promised to do his best, with the support of the ministry’s staff.

“I am here for a very short time. I am coming with an open mind. There is nothing under the sun you won’t hear when you move into a place. The best thing is to lead the people with an open mind. I want you to embrace me and give me all the support.

“I wish we could work with my sister (Saraki) but I have a brother. One good one goes another comes. We will do our best and leave the rest to humanity and posterity to judge,” he said.

Sambo resumed duty together with the Minister of State for Transportation, Ademola Adegoroya.

While handing over, Saraki thanked the management and staff of the ministry and urged them to support the new ministers. “The team you have here is exceptionally hardworking, very quick to learn and has been exceptionally focused on ensuring service and assisting the minister in any and every capacity.

“I am sure that they will continue to do that as you take over the reins of the ministry, which is one of the focal points of Mr. President’s agenda, considering the issue of infrastructure. I am sure and doubtless that the legacy started in 2015 will continue. If there is any way I can be of assistance to both of you, you know where I am,” she added.
