The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji has approved the appointment of Engr. Emmanuel Kwaya as the overseeing director-general of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC).
In his statement, Nnaji commended the outgoing director-general, Prof. Hussaini Ibrahim for his contributions to the agency, the Federal Ministry of Innovation, the science & technology (IST) sector and Nigeria as a whole.
Kwaya’s appointment is pending the appointment of a substantive director-general for the agency. The appointment took effect from Monday, April 8, 2024. The minister has called on the overseeing chief executive officer to be dedicated and committed to his duty. He also urged the staff to support the new leadership and be loyal to achieve the desired goal of the agency.
The appointment follows the request by the outgoing director-general, Prof. Hussaini Ibrahim whose second tenure ended on April 7, 2024, to hand over to the most senior director of the agency, Engr. Emmanuel Kwaya.
Kwaya’s appointment is expected to bring a positive impact on the RMRDC and Nigeria’s growth as a whole. His experience and expertise will be instrumental in achieving the agency’s goals and objectives.
