In a significant development, the newly appointed permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Environment, Mahmud Kambari has officially assumed office, emphasising the importance of teamwork and strict adherence to ethical standards and government regulations in the ministry’s operations.

During his inaugural speech, Kambari expressed his appreciation for the minister and minister of state for setting significant milestones in the ministry. He extended his gratitude to the President and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation for entrusting him with the role.

“I sincerely pledge my absolute loyalty and commitment to our fatherland, counting on the support and cooperation of the management and staff to effectively deliver on the ministry’s mandate,” Kambari declared.

Acknowledging the remarkable work done under the leadership of the minister, Kambari committed to building upon the rich history of achievements and legacies within the ministry.

Having fostered a positive working relationship with the staff and management of the service welfare office in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Kambari expressed optimism for a similar or even better collaboration in the Federal Ministry of Environment.

He articulated his commitment to executing the Ministerial Performance Bond for the Presidential Priorities and Deliverables (2023-2027) and aligning the ministry’s activities with the six pillars of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP25) for high-impact performance.

This commitment involves driving the full realisation of the Digitisation Policy of government, the human resource component of the IPPIS, capacity building/talent management, performance management, innovation and staff welfare.

Kambari promised to cultivate a positive work environment that encourages open communication, where every staff member feels heard and valued. He expressed his willingness to welcome suggestions and advice on moving the ministry forward while constructively engaging with strategic partners and stakeholders, both locally and internationally.

“I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead, and I am truly honoured to be part of such a talented and dedicated team. Let us unite in our common purpose, support one another, and work tirelessly to achieve the extraordinary. I am confident that with your dedication and expertise, we will usher in a new era of success for this ministry,” he concluded.
