In a statement issued by the deputy director of information, Mr. Olusegun Ayeoyenikan the agency management charged the media to avoid sensational reports and, instead, seek clarification from the agency before publishing any news about the agency.

The statement was issued in response to reports circulating in the media that the affairs of the agency was not handed over to the next most senior officer in the agency, as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari. However, the agency management has debunked the rumours and affirmed that the handover was done as directed by the President.

The agency has appealed to the media and other stakeholders to avoid spreading information capable of causing tension in the NASENI system. The statement also emphasised that NASENI is a peaceful organisation where management, staff and unions work harmoniously.

The agency’s management affirmed that everyone remained conscious of the critical need to work with all stakeholders to attain the industrialisation agenda of the Federal Government.

The coordinating director of planning and business development, Mrs. Nonyem Onyechi who has taken over the affairs of the agency, is receiving support from everyone to move the agency forward. The management of the agency assured that the latest development did not create any friction among principal officers and top management of the agency, and everyone is eager to work with Mrs. Onyechi to move the agency forward.

The statement affirmed that NASENI’s doors remained open to those in need of clarification on any issue and that was no reason for anyone to rush to the press to misinform the general public without seeking confirmation from the management to present a balanced report.

In conclusion, the management of NASENI has appealed to the media and others to avoid spreading false information that can cause tension in the agency. The agency has reiterated its commitment to achieving Nigeria’s industrialisation agenda through the peaceful coexistence of staff and management.
