The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is set to partner Halibiz Industries in the areas of machine maintenance, infrastructural development and reverse engineering.

The executive vice chairman of NASENI, Prof. Maiwalima Haruna made this known when he led the management team of the agency on a working visit and facility tour of the newly established company which deals on confectioneries and foods production yesterday in Abuja.

Haruna, who expressed satisfaction with what the company had on ground, said the agency was willing and ready to assist it with expertise support in the area of maintenance through reverse engineering, even as he promised to send a technical team to find areas of possible collaboration with the industry.

Earlier in his presentation, the president of HALIBIZ Industries, Alhaji Adamu Aliu noted that virtually all products in use by Nigerians are imported unlike countries like China where they don’t import but make use of what they produce. He said the whole idea of setting up Halibiz Industries in Nigeria was to produce and manufacture the products in Nigeria and at the same time create jobs for Nigerian youths.

A statement by NASENI’s deputy director of information, Mr Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, said Aliu, however, asked NASENI to look for possible areas where the agency would help the industry grow and be involved in technical training and maintenance of their machines.

“We are building AFRITOS Mega factory Nigeria very soon and this is where we want to collaborate with NASENI. We want NASENI to come in.

“There are also several agricultural products we want but we have technical challenges and that is why we want NASENI to bring in engineering ideas and machines to make it happen,” it added.
