Link NIN To SIM Without Delay, FG Urges Citizens

Again! FG Extends NIN-SIM Verification, As NIN Enrolment Figures Exceeds 71 Million

The Federal Government has urged citizens to link their National Identity Number (NIN) to their Subscribers Identity Model (SIM) cards without delay.

Recall that the government approved an extension of the NIN-SIM linkage deadline to March 31, 2022.  In preparation for the enforcement, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami has urges citizens and legal residents to utilise the next few days to ensure that they complete the linkage.

To this end, the minister has further directed that the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) offer enrolment services round-the-clock for the next few days.  Also, Pantami thanked all those who have completed their NIN-SIM linkage. 

A statement jointly co-signed by the director, public affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the head, corporate communications, NIMC, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde and Mr. Kayode Adegoke, respectively, on behalf of the minister, the executive vice-chairman of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta and the director-general of NIMC, Engr. Aliyu Aziz, urged citizens and legal residents to take advantage of the window to complete the process of enrolment and verification within the next few days.
