The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN has expressed satisfaction with the facilities within the temporary campus of the African Aviation and Aerospace University Abuja.

Keyamo, who gave the facilities a pass-mark during a recent inspection tour, highlighted the university’s commitment to providing students with international qualifications, including certifications from ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) and WMO (World Meteorological Organisation).

Keyamo revealed that the university has established collaborations and affiliations with renowned international organisations and schools, including the Qatari government, Swinburne University Australia, University of Coventry UK, University of New South Wales Sydney, Australia and, most recently, Emirates Aviation University in Dubai.

He emphasised that preparations are underway to commence the development of the university’s permanent site. Currently situated on a temporary campus owned by the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Keyamo stated that “the academic journey has already commenced with the admission of 28 undergraduate pioneer students, with 14 students each in both aviation business and meteorology. This was done via a successful collaboration with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The School of Postgraduate studies is opening its application portal for M.Sc. programmes this month.”

The university’s registrar, Mustapha Sheik provided additional details, explaining that the institution currently offers two undergraduate courses and plans to expand its course offerings in the next academic session. He noted that the admission portal for undergraduates will close this week, and the postgraduate portal will open next week for interested applicants.
