A top-ranking university in India, The GD Goenka University has appointed Dr. Felix Ale as one of the advisory councilors of the prominent communication institution.
Ale, currently the head, media and corporate communications of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Abuja, will be joining other councilors in the school of communication, GD Goenka University, India, to advance the media and communication education and research for the foreign university.
His appointment was conveyed in a letter which highlighted Ale’s professional experience and dedication to the field of media and strategic communication, saying the school of communication would be able to fully optimize commitment to students, faculty as well as the research and academic missions of the university with the assistance of the advisory council.
The new council which will have its first biannual meeting in August is expected to work directly with the institution to provide among other things strategic leadership in the areas of programme development, assessment, strategy, student and faculty engagements.
The GD Goenka University is one of the top-ranking universities in India and offers a wide range of programmes for doctorate, degree, diploma and certification.
The university is also best known for offering international students’ mobility through internships, semester abroad programmes and articulation opportunities with more than 40 higher education partners around the world.
The new member of the advisory council, Ale who is a fellow and member of various professional organisations and bodies across the globe has published several research papers and delivered lectures as guest speaker in various national and international fora.
Aside from heading the space agency’s media and corporate communications unit, Ale is the editor in chief of Nigeria Space Digest, a special publication of the agency.
He is a member of the editorial board of Discoveries Magazine, a publication of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Federal Republic of Nigeria as well as member of the Nigerian Journal on Space Research.
He has previously worked as staff reporter, government house correspondent, news editor, press attache to military governors and chief press secretary to a democratically elected government in Ondo State, Nigeria.
Ale is also a one-time broadcast journalist of the year In Ondo State-Nigeria during his historic sojourn as ace reporter in Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) and one of the leading science journalists in Africa with a novel broad-based research works in space journalism and new media at the Ph.D level.
Ale has received several merit awards both locally and internationally in recognition of his professional excellence and achievements in the field of journalism.
