The unveiling of these vehicles took place in Abuja on Thursday, with the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami expressing his confidence in NIPOST’s transformational journey. He emphasised that the trucks were acquired using NIPOST’s internally generated revenue, showcasing the organisation’s financial independence from the Federal Government’s allocation.

Under Adepoju’s leadership, NIPOST remains committed to initiating innovative measures aimed at enhancing service delivery and restoring public confidence in the organization’s ability to meet their expectations. The commissioning of the ten brand new JAC TRUCKS, each with a capacity of 3/4 tons, for the coverage of national mail routes, exemplifies this commitment.

Adepoju emphasised the significance of the event, stating, “Today, we are witnessing another practical demonstration of that commitment with the commissioning of 10 brand new JAC TRUCKS… Effective and efficient National Mail Routes will help put Nigeria on a proper pedestal within global postal administrations”.

The commissioning of these vehicles represents a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts of the current NIPOST management to reposition the organisation, meet the evolving needs of customers, and improve the socio-economic well-being of the Nigerian people. With these enhanced capabilities, NIPOST is poised to contribute substantially to the growth and development of the country’s economy.

The initiative aligns with the government’s vision to leverage the postal sector’s potential in driving digital transformation and fostering economic advancement. By investing in modern infrastructure and equipping NIPOST with operational mail vehicles, the Federal Government has taken a proactive step towards bolstering the efficiency, reach and impact of the postal service, ultimately benefitting Nigerians and the nation as a whole.
