The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has begged the flying public to bear with it over the inconveniences caused by the routine maintenance of the conveyor belts in the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Terminal 1.
A statement by FAAN’s general manager, corporate affairs, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, said the routine maintenance is to serve the public better.
“Contrary to misinformation presently making the rounds online, suggesting a breakdown in the baggage processing system at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to inform passengers and the general public that what is going on is routine maintenance of the conveyor belts.
“The procedure is in line with our facility maintenance programme aimed at ensuring optimal performance of the airport’s facilities.
“We, therefore, appeal to our highly esteemed stakeholders to bear with us, as the maintenance work will soon be completed,” the statement added.
