The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake has urged Nigerian youths to embrace innovation and creativity as part of the government’s strategy to create an enabling environment for entrepreneurship to thrive.

Alake made this call during the commissioning of the Amal Technologies Limited Factory at Idu Industrial Estate, Abuja. He commended the factory as a “pacesetter of homegrown technology” aligning with the President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda to integrate youths into Nigeria’s economic vision.

In emphasising the importance of nurturing entrepreneurship and self-reliance among youths, the Minister encouraged citizens to follow Amal Tech’s example in not only dreaming big but also embarking on bold endeavors to achieve clear objectives. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing equal opportunities and a conducive environment for entrepreneurs to flourish, contributing to the country’s betterment.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of youths in society, Alake stressed the importance of engaging them constructively to prevent unrest. He highlighted Tinubu’s decision to involve youths as drivers in inculcating the values of hard work for economic rejuvenation.

Alake advised Nigerian youths to be patient and persistent during the policy gestation period of the present administration, assuring them of positive results through the implementation of critical strategies to drive economic growth.

During the ceremony, the Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Oil) & Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Engr. Amoru Musari, who represented Tinubu, emphasised the event’s significance in promoting a research culture in the oil and gas industry. He praised Amal Technology’s gas leak device, a beneficiary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB)’s research and innovation intervention.

Chairman of Amal Technology board, Mr. Nuhu Yakubu described the company as a milestone in technological advancement and innovation. He highlighted the production of smart devices and electronic equipment as “major contributors to economic and societal progress”.

The Founder of Amal Technologies Limited, Mr. Shehu Tijjani Abdullahi provided insights into the company’s capabilities, including printed circuit boards and assembly (PCBA) equipment, research and development (R&D) equipment, a high-capacity surface-mount technology (SMT) assembly line, a calibrator and an injection mold machine.

Dignitaries present at the occasion included the Minister of State for Youth Development, Hon. Ayo Olawande; Permanent secretary of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Mary Ogbe; Executive secretary, Nigeria Content Development & Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatshola Ogbe, a representative of the Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil & Gas), among others. The event showcased a commitment to pushing development boundaries, creating jobs, and fostering multi-sectoral growth for the local economy.
