The executive director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaib has encouraged students to consider a career and specialisation in public health.
Shuaib said this when he hosted pioneer cohorts of the community medicine department of Nile University today (August 2, 2022) in Abuja.
The students who were in their final year 600 level were at the NPHCDA, office for a one-day academic visit.
The NPHCDA boss said that public health is a field that encourages students and professionals to bring their real selves into the workforce.
“The extensive public health field is a unique area of study providing many professional job opportunities for those who enjoy helping others.
“Public health combines different academic areas for a multidisciplinary approach to the health care field, offering almost limitless opportunities for professional specialisation,” he said.
Shuaib highlighted the progress made in public health in the country over the years and congratulated the students for coming thus far.
The acting head, department of community medicine, Nile University, Dr. Nurudeen Hussain thanked the management of NPHCDA for the warm reception and disclosed that the visit was part of the learning curriculum of the students.
