Nigerians have been urged not to give up hope on the emergence of a new Nigeria, as it is still within grasp. This prospect was championed by the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi.

During his “Thank You Tour” in the US, Obi emphasised the possibility of a new Nigeria, asserting that with the right leaders recruited at all levels of government, transformative change is attainable.

Obi stressed that united, Nigerians can surmount present challenges, seize opportunities and establish a nation where every citizen flourishes.

Reflecting on the impactful journey of the American “Thank You Tour” and Obi’s enlightening lecture at Harvard Law School, a statement jointly signed by the coordinators of the PONewNigeriaProject, Dr. David Ogula, Dr. Moses Paul and Mrs. Ndidi Mbagwu, underscored the significance of the tour.

Dr. Moses Paul recalled the profound experiences shared and the inspiring conversations held during the tour across US cities.

Obi remarked, “As we embark on the journey ahead, let us carry with us the lessons learned, the bonds forged, and the unwavering resolve to build a brighter future for Nigeria. Together, we can overcome challenges, embrace opportunities and create a nation where every citizen thrives. Thank you for your unwavering support, and let us continue to move forward with courage, compassion and hope.”

The statement highlighted engaging discussions on the state of the nation and exploring pathways forward, noting that every moment was imbued with hope, determination and a shared vision for a better tomorrow.

Obi further noted that the question and answer session at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, reaffirmed the commitment of Nigerians in the Diaspora to effecting positive change.

“Together, as a community united by shared values and aspirations, we have the power to shape a future defined by compassion, opportunity, and justice for all. The interactive questions and answer session and “Thank You Tour” in Boston Massachusetts on April 13, 2024, provided a platform for meaningful dialogue with members of the ‘Obidients’ family and the new Nigeria die-hards in Massachusetts. Together, we delved into pressing issues and charted a course toward positive change, fueled by a collective commitment to progress and unity,” he stated.

Obi highlighted the resilience and optimism demonstrated at the Life Christian Church auditorium in West Orange, New Jersey, alongside the ‘Obidient’ family and praised Dr. Nexus Sea and the #NijaWeCanTeam from NYC/NJ for their embodiment of community and solidarity in driving meaningful transformation.

“The many other group meetings and discussions created deeply meaningful dialogues and connections, each contributing to our shared journey of growth and progress,” he added.

Obi concluded by expressing gratitude to those whose dedication and passion inspire them to strive for excellence and positively impact their communities.

In alignment with Obi’s message, Nigerians in the Diaspora and at home, under the aegis of PO Nigerian New Nigeria project group, are retooling efforts to build a new Nigeria.
