Akpabio, Abbas, Nweke To Participate In Public Presentation Of Book On Cyber Politics

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; former Minister of Information and Communication, Frank Nweke Jr and other distinguished guests have indicated their desire to grace the public presentation of the book Cyber Politics: Social Media, Social Demograph, and Voting Behaviour in Nigeria. authored by Omoniyi Ibietan, head of media relations at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), will witness the presence of distinguished guests, including.

The event, scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the main auditorium of the Communications and Digital Economy Complex in Mbora District, Abuja. Akpabio will serve as the special guest of honour, while Abbas will attend as the guest of honour. The event will be chaired by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the last guber elections in Enugu, Nweke Jr.

Other esteemed dignitaries expected at the occasion include the immediate past Chief of Naval Staff , Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo (Rtd); the special adviser to the president on policy coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman; founder of Agora Policy Think Tank and former executive secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Waziri Adio; Executive director of the Centre for Democracy and Development, Idayat Hassan; Chief executive officer of the Premium Times Group, Dapo Olorunyomi; Deputy dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at Baze University, Prof Abiodun Adeniyi and the executive director of CARE International, Dr. Hussaini Abdu.

The book, published by Premium Times Books, the publishing arm of the Premium Times Group, has garnered significant praise for its contribution to political communication scholarship and practice. “Cyber Politics” delves into the influence of social media communication on voting behaviour, social and demographic correlations, the effectiveness of social media networks, motivations of social media influencers and stimulus-response factors affecting electoral democracy during the Nigerian elections.

The book will be presented to the public by the executive vice chairman and chief executive officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Danbatta will present the book to the public.
