The upcoming WomenLift Health Global Conference 2024 will be a pivotal moment in advancing women’s leadership in global health and championing gender equality.
The communications and engagement director at WomenLift Health, Ms. Lizz Ntonjira emphasised the conference’s crucial role in fostering dialogue, collaboration and empowerment within the global health sector.
Speaking to Science Nigeria in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, she underscored WomenLift Health’s commitment to expanding women’s influence and driving systemic change for improved health outcomes.
Scheduled from April 6 to April 8, 2024, at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the WomenLift Health Global Conference 2024 is positioned as a premier platform dedicated to addressing the multifaceted challenges hindering women’s progress in leadership roles within global health. The in-person event aims to facilitate networking, leadership development, mentorship, inspiration, empowerment and advocacy for women leaders to spearhead global initiatives aimed at narrowing the gender gap in health leadership.
Ntonjira highlighted a series of pre-conference events, including a visit to the Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation Tanzania (CCBRT), a locally registered NGO offering specialised healthcare services in Dar es Salaam and Moshi, Tanzania. The visit aims to showcase successful examples of women’s leadership in healthcare.
Emphasising the significance of providing a platform for both women and men to collaborate, celebrate achievements, and address challenges in achieving gender equality, Ntonjira noted that approximately 1000 women leaders and allies are expected to attend this year’s conference. The event promises a diverse program featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, workshops and networking sessions focused on women’s leadership, health equity and innovation in global health.
