The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Steel Development, Dr. Chris Isokpunwu has emphasised the need to revive Nigeria’s steel sector to boost the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP) and transform the economy.
Isokpunwu made this point during a recent courtesy visit by the Association of Benin Community, Abuja, who came to congratulate him on his appointment as permanent secretary by President Bola Tinubu. The visit took place at the ministry’s headquarters.
A statement by the head of information and public relations, Tine-Iulun M.A. noted that Isokpunwu expressed his gratitude at the visit and acknowledged the challenging task of leading a ministry pivotal to Nigeria’s economic expansion. He affirmed that, with the support of the association and other key stakeholders in the steel sector, success is achievable.
Earlier, the president of the association, Barr. Lucky O. Odigie who led the delegation, described Isokpunwu as an “astute achiever who is committed to ensuring the best outcomes for all.”
