The Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Audu has extended his condolences to the former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and his family following the passing of his son, Hon. Mohammed Idris.
Expressing sorrow at the sudden demise of Hon. Mohammed Idris, the eldest son of ex-governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, who collapsed and passed away on April 10, 2024, in Abuja after Ed-El Fitr Prayers, Audu, in a statement through his media special assistant, Lizzy Okoji sympathised with Ibrahim Idris, the bereaved family and the entire Kogi East community.
The minister mourned the loss of Idris, a former House of Representatives member representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal constituencies at the National Assembly from 2011 to 2015, highlighting his significant contributions to society, his locality and Kogi State.
Audu lauded the late Idris, a thriving entrepreneur, for upholding his father’s legacies in both business and politics.
He encouraged the ex-governor to find comfort in the knowledge that his son led a purposeful albeit brief life, leaving behind a legacy of service to humanity and society.
Acknowledging the impact of the late lawmaker on numerous lives and sectors, including public service and business, Audu emphasised the profound loss felt not only by his family but also by the wider Kogi East community and the state.
