Stakeholders in Nigeria’s construction industry are set to brainstorm and seek to proffer solution to the challenges facing the sector in the country.
The meeting will be convened by the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology with the theme, ‘Circular economy in the built environment for enhanced performance of the Nigerian construction industry’ from April 27 to 28 in Abuja.
Speaking to journalists today (April 22, 2021) in Abuja, the director-general of NBRRI, Prof. Samson Duna, said the meeting which would allow restricted physical and virtual attendance would focus on eliminating wastes as much as possible in the construction industry.
“The sub themes of the conference are: digitization, adaptive circular designs, technologies and management in construction; socio-economic and environmental impact of circular economy in construction; sourcing, developing and processing of recycled/reclaimed materials; construction using recycled/reclaimed materials; and policies, insurance and legal frameworks as drivers for circular economy in construction,” he added.
