Pathfinder International, a leading organisation in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), has announced the appointment of Dr. Tabinda Sarosh as its new chief executive officer (CEO).
Senior advisor for research and strategic communications in Africa, Oumar Onyango confirmed this in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday.
Sarosh, who has held various leadership roles within Pathfinder for nearly a decade, most recently served as Interim CEO. Her appointment provides continuity and strategic leadership at a pivotal time for the organisation’s global mission.
“With over 20 years of experience as a clinician, advocate, and leader in both development and humanitarian sectors, Sarosh is recognised for her strategic insight and unwavering commitment to women’s rights,” Onyango stated.
She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Dow Medical College, along with a postgraduate degree in nutrition, enabling her to integrate clinical expertise with public health advocacy.
Sarosh’s leadership is expected to reinforce Pathfinder’s initiatives in family planning, maternal health, and reproductive rights across more than 20 countries, including Nigeria, where the organisation actively supports community-led healthcare initiatives.
“Her appointment underscores her deep commitment to advancing SRHR globally. Her vast experience will be key in navigating the evolving challenges in reproductive health services,” Onyango added.
Having grown up in Southeast Asia in a multi-country environment, Sarosh brings a global perspective and diplomatic approach to her leadership, which will be instrumental as Pathfinder continues to tackle barriers to healthcare access worldwide.
