The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) has bestowed the prestigious Nigeria GovTech Award upon the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) as the Best Federal MDA in Data Management and Analytics.
Additionally, NiMet’s director-general, Prof. Mansur Matazu has been nominated to receive the distinguished GovTech Trailblazer’s Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership and his role in advancing GovTech initiatives and digital governance within NiMet, in alignment with the Federal Government’s digital transformation efforts in the public sector.
The announcement came via a letter dated September 19, 2023, signed by the director-general of BPSR, Mr. Arabi Dasuki and addressed to NiMet’s director-general. The letter stated, “We are pleased to inform you that your organization will be honored with the prestigious Nigeria GovTech Award in the Best Federal MDA in Data Management and Analytics category”.
The award, determined through nationwide nominations and online voting promoted via various media channels, will be presented during an award dinner honouring the recipients on October 12-13, 2023, at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.
