President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) has approved the appointment of Dr. Yusuf Maina Bukar as the director-general of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW) an agency under the Federal Ministry of Environment.
Dr. Yusuf is a PhD holder in climate change risks and sustainable urban growth from the University of Liverpool, UK; Master’s degree in advanced sustainability of the built environment from the University of Dundee, UK and bachelor of urban and regional planning from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.
Dr. Yusuf, a specialist in climate change adaptation and sustainable development, is a member of the Nigerian Environmental Society.
A statement by the ministry’s director of press, Saghir El-Mohammed, said his appointment spans four years and takes effect from April 4, 2022.
