The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has assured the public that its systems for National Identification Number (NIN) enrollment, verification, authentication and data modification are functional and efficient, ahead of the September 14, 2024, NIN-SIM linkage deadline.

NIMC reaffirmed that over 10,000 NIN enrolment centres across Nigeria and abroad are fully operational, allowing Nigerians and legal residents to enroll for their NINs. The commission encourages citizens to visit any of these centres for timely issuance of their NINs.

Additionally, NIMC informs the public that applicants who wish to modify their NIN data can now use the NIMC Self-Service Portal at self-servicemodification.nimc.gov.ng, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

For further enquiries on NIN enrolment centres, processes, NIN data modification and verification issues, applicants are advised to visit www.nimc.gov.ng.

In a statement by the commission’s head of corporate communications, Kayode Adegoke it emphasised its zero-tolerance policy towards extortion and unethical practices. “NIN enrolment is free and any reports of extortion or misconduct should be directed to nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng or by phone at 07002255646,” it said.
