The newly appointed Postmaster General of the Federation and CEO of the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST), Miss Tola Odeyemi has assumed her duties at the service’s corporate headquarters in Abuja.
With a resolute commitment to building on the achievements of her predecessors, she aims to propel the postal organisation to its rightful place, both domestically and on the global stage. Leveraging technology, her vision is to make NIPOST logistics, e-commerce, and other postal services reliable, efficient and effective.
Odeyemi, a seasoned professional engineer with over 15 years of experience in various capacities, spanning public and private sectors, and specialising in tech policy and government regulatory roles, has held senior positions at both state and federal government levels. Her appointment signals a new era of innovation, modernization, and transformation for NIPOST, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. With decades of experience in strategy development and implementation, Odeyemi is poised to lead NIPOST into a promising future.
Odeyemi emphasised the importance of continuity while adhering to core values and mandates. She stressed the need for adapting to change and showing commitment, all within the context of preserving the legacy of NIPOST forged by the hard work and vision of those who came before her.
“As I assume this role, I come to build on the commendable work of my predecessors. My aspirations are not only to solidify NIPOST’s status as one of the leading postal operators in the world but also to embark on the critical mission of establishing NIPOST as the e-commerce and logistics hub of the world. This involves providing postal services that cater to the needs of Nigerians, regardless of their location,” said the Postmaster General.
Odeyemi expressed her deep appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for entrusting her with the vital responsibility of Postmaster General of the Federation, a national assignment close to her heart. As the first female to hold this position in NIPOST’s history, her appointment reflects the significant strides Nigeria is making in closing the gender and age gap in governance. She pledged to build upon the existing foundation and, with the cooperation of the staff, achieve even greater success.
