The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has initiated an investigation into an accident involving an HS 125 aircraft with nationality and registration marks 5N-AMM, belonging to Flint Aero. The incident occurred at approximately 08:21 pm (local time) on November 3, 2023.
The director of public affairs and consumer protection at NSIB, Dr. James Odaudu disclosed that the aircraft, carrying 10 passengers and 3 crew members, was en-route from Abuja to Ibadan. During its final approach to land on Runway 22 at Ibadan Airport, the aircraft crashed short of the runway.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities, as all passengers and crew were safely evacuated.
As the investigating agency, NSIB is seeking assistance from the public. They encourage anyone with video clips, relevant evidence, or information related to the accident to come forward and assist with the investigation. NSIB also kindly requests that the general public and the press refrain from speculating on the cause of the incident until the formal report is released.
NSIB has assured that they will release the preliminary report as soon as possible.
