NPHCDA Delivers Vital Medications For Hajj Pilgrims

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has provided crucial medical supplies to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to ensure the health and well-being of Nigerian pilgrims embarking on the sacred journey of Hajj.

The NPHCDA’s executive director, Dr. Muyi Aina emphasised the significance of offering comprehensive medical assistance to the pilgrims during the handover ceremony in Abuja. Recognising the rigorous nature of the pilgrimage, Aina highlighted the coordinated distribution of vaccines and essential drugs to all states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The medical supplies, including antimalarials, antihypertensives, analgesics and antibiotics, are intended to provide prompt medical aid to the pilgrims.

Grateful for the support, the NPHCDA boss thanked the chairman, board members, directors and staff of NAHCON, as well as the Minister of Health for their unwavering collaboration.

The timely procurement and delivery of these essential medicines reflect the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting the pilgrims.

Following the official handover, chairman of NAHCON, Dr. Jalaludeen Arabi expressed deep appreciation and dedication to safeguarding the health and safety of Nigerian pilgrims.

Arabi expressed gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and NPHCDA for their support and collaboration, emphasising the importance of the provided medical supplies in ensuring the well-being of the pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.

He stressed the significance of the partnership between NAHCON and NPHCDA, acknowledging the indispensable role of the Minister of Health and Social Welfare and the diligent efforts of the NPHCDA team in making the handover possible.

Arabi reassured stakeholders of their commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards for the pilgrims, wishing for a safe and spiritually enriching Hajj experience. He affirmed the dedication to utilising the resources effectively to support the pilgrims on their sacred journey.

The handover ceremony, which took place at the National Strategic Cold Room, was attended by representatives from the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, NPHCDA staff and other dignitaries, showcasing a collaborative effort to provide comprehensive medical assistance to the pilgrims.
