Newly appointed director-general of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), Dr. Obiageli Amadiobi has pledged to maintain an open-door policy during her tenure.
In her inaugural general meeting with NOTAP staff, Amadiobi emphasised her commitment to fostering an environment of inclusivity and collaboration. She expressed gratitude for the warm reception since assuming office and underscored her determination to address the challenges facing the organisation while striving to fulfill its mandate.
Highlighting her vision for the future of NOTAP, Dr. Amadiobi, drawing from her experience as a former permanent secretary in the Imo State Ministry of Information and Strategy, outlined plans for comprehensive restructuring aimed at elevating NOTAP to a world-class institution. She challenged departmental directors to ensure the timely and effective execution of approved projects, emphasising the importance of teamwork in driving innovation and progress.
Addressing the staff as her “children,” Amadiobi vowed to provide equal opportunities for all to contribute to the advancement of the science, technology and innovation (STI) sector. She urged department heads to provide regular updates on their activities and achievements, fostering transparency and accountability within the organisation.
In her welcome address, the former acting director-general, Dr. Idoreyin Imiyoho commended the staff for their cooperation during her tenure and stressed the importance of unity and support for the new leadership. Similarly, the leadership of the None Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) in NOTAP expressed its commitment to collaborating with Amadiobi by pledging unwavering support for her leadership.
The meeting, attended by over 90 per cent of NOTAP staff, marked the beginning of a new era characterised by a sense of inclusivity and mutual respect. Through open dialogue and collective effort, Amadiobi aims to steer NOTAP towards greater achievements in service to the nation.
