The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has announced plans to host the inaugural meeting of the Startup Consultative Forum on Monday, April 28, 2025.
In a statement issued by the director of corporate communications and media relations, Hadiza Umar the agency described the upcoming event as a major step in strengthening stakeholder engagement within Nigeria’s dynamic start-up ecosystem.
The forum is designed to provide an interactive platform for start-up founders, innovators, ecosystem enablers and intermediaries to contribute directly to national policy conversations aimed at fostering growth, attracting investment and driving digital innovation. Convened under the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA), the initiative highlights the government’s commitment to positioning start-ups as co-creators of an enabling environment for innovation.
A key objective of the meeting is to facilitate collaborative dialogue, particularly around the nomination and selection of representatives to serve on the National Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship – Nigeria’s top advisory body for the start-up sector. Outcomes from the forum will support inclusive policy development and elevate the voices of Nigeria’s tech and innovation community.
NITDA has called on all ‘labelled start-ups,’ verified entrepreneurial and innovation support organisations, angel investors, venture capitalists and other stakeholders to participate in the forum and engage in the nomination and voting process.
“Join us in shaping the future of digital innovation in Nigeria. Together, we can build a thriving ecosystem that supports and celebrates the pioneering spirit of Nigerian start-ups,” the statement said.
