NiMet Ramps Up Staff Capacity Devt

NiMet is actively enhancing the skills of its staff through a renewed initiative by the management. The agency is currently training grade levels 4 to 7 staff members across the south-south, southeastern, southwestern and northwestern zones of the country on performance management.

According to director of human resources at NiMet, Dr. Nasiru Sani staff members from the mentioned zones are undergoing training in Kano, Ibadan and Enugu. The training for senior staff has already been completed, while that for junior staff will hold from Thursday, June 13 to Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Sani emphasised that investing in the professional growth of their staff will lead to improved operational efficiency and effectiveness, enhanced service delivery and client satisfaction, a culture of innovation and adaptability and compliance with the latest industry standards and best practices.

He also highlighted the alignment of NiMet’s efforts with the objectives of the government and the aviation sector roadmap of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN. He further disclosed that human capacity development is a key deliverable in the performance bond signed by the minister with aviation agencies’ heads and their directors in February 2024.

Sani concluded by stressing that the director-general and chief executive officer of NiMet, Prof. Charles Anosike ensures that both management and staff align with the government’s objectives.
