The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has proffered expert advice for solutions to the challenges dogging Nigeria’s aviation industry.
The agency recently held an aviation stakeholder meeting to interact with service takers and proffer solutions to the challenges they may have encountered as the agency strives toward perfection.
In his remarks during the interaction, the director-general of NiMet, Prof. Mansur Matazu, represented by the head of quality management system, NiMet, Mr. Abdulrahman Usman, said: “As a matter of policy NiMet remains committed to upholding the safety standards in the aviation sector.
“Besides being an ISO 9001:2015 certification requirement, this periodic stakeholders’ engagement also serves as a veritable platform for us to interact with our aviation stakeholders (service takers) in a bid to sensitise and brainstorm on the issues raised by our customers.”
Also, the agency used the occasion to make presentations to stakeholders on weather-induced aviation hazards like thunderstorms, microbursts, wind shear etc. The event was attended by officials from FAAN, AIB, Nigeria Immigrations Service (NIS), Skyjet etc.
