The director-general of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike marked his one-year anniversary in office on Monday, December 16, 2024, with a strategic and performance review meeting.
The session included directors, senior management staff and representatives of the labour unions.
During the meeting, directors from the agency’s nine directorates took turns presenting progress reports on their respective departments. Additionally, the Office of the Director General presented a summary of achievements recorded under Anosike’s leadership over the past year.
Speaking at the session, Anosike expressed gratitude to the management team, directors and staff for their understanding and support as he continues to execute NiMet’s mandate.
“I want to highlight the importance of collective bargaining with the unions. I assure you that I remain committed to driving the mission of our agency,” he stated.
Anosike emphasised the value of regular performance reviews and celebrating accomplishments. “Failing is not a problem. It is from failure that we learn. Failure and success go together. Collectively, we will achieve even more in the coming years,” he added.
