The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the successful migration of all telecommunications firms to its upgraded National Identification Number (NIN) verification platform, NINAuth.

This marks a major milestone in improving the security, efficiency and accessibility of identity verification services across Nigeria. The NINAuth platform, developed by NIMC’s technical team, enables seamless real-time NIN verification while giving Nigerians greater control over their data.

According to the director of IT/IDD at NIMC, Engr. Lanre Yusuf the migration has been completed across all telecom operators and verification services are currently operational and uninterrupted.

“The new platform enhances data protection, improves user experience, and simplifies access to services,” Yusuf stated.

In a statement issued by the commission’s head of corporate communications, Dr. Kayode Adegoke the public was assured that the NIN verification and authentication systems are fully functional and accessible nationwide.

However, the commission advised that all complaints related to SIM-related services, including new SIM registration, SIM swap, SIM migration and “welcome back” SIM processes, should be directed to the respective telecommunications providers for immediate resolution.

NIMC reiterated its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s digital identity ecosystem, emphasizing that this upgrade to NINAuth is part of broader efforts to safeguard users’ data and ensure smooth integration across government and private services.

The commission urged Nigerians to use the platform through their service providers and affirmed its readiness to continue supporting the country’s digital transformation.
