NIHSA Alerts Nigerians On Rising Water Levels Along River Niger

The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) has reported a continuous rise in water levels along the River Niger from Thursday, September 19 to Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

In a statement released to journalists in Abuja, the agency assured that it is working closely with the authorities and management of both Kainji and Jebba dams to monitor the situation. 

NIHSA advised citizens and communities located along the River Niger to heed flood warnings, avoid floodplains and ensure that waterways are cleared to reduce the risk of flooding.
