NIGCOMSAT Trains DSA Staff, Harps On Career Success

The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited has trained staff of the Defence Space Administration (DSA) on space management and administration.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training at NIGCOMSAT’s headquarters in Abuja, the managing director, NIGCOMSAT Ltd, Dr. Abimbola Alale, urged participants to utilise the knowledge garnered from the training in boosting their careers through service delivery.

She reiterated the determination and commitment of the company to positively impact human development in the country with the view to building a formidable human capacity for the growth of space technology in Nigeria.

Represented by the company’s executive director, technical, Prof. Abdu Bambale, Alale stated that the participants were opportune to be trained by some of the best satellite engineers in this part of the world.

“I expect that you will apply the knowledge and skills acquired from this training in furtherance of your careers and achieving the overall mission of the Defence Space Administration,” she said.

The NIGCOMSAT boss particularly thanked the leadership of the Defence Space Administration for the cordial relationship between both agencies and called for the sustenance of the partnership for the mutual benefits of the two agencies and Nigeria.

In his response, the Chief of Defence Space Administration, Rear Admiral Nnamdi Muogilim, represented by the director, policy, planning and research, Maj. Gen. Musa Danmadami expressed gratitude for the training and said the collaboration is the first of its kind between the two agencies hoping for more soon.

According to him, the DSA will not achieve its complete mandate without the cooperation and collaboration of NIGCOMSAT Ltd.

The DSA chief was particularly elated with the quality of training and requested more of such sessions before the end of the year.

A statement by NIGCOMSAT’s general manager, corporate affairs and special projects, Dr. Adamu Idris, said certificates and awards were presented to participants at the end of the closing ceremony, adding that the overall award best, tagged, Dr. Abimbola Alale award went to Alawuye Jide.
