JAM Intervention for Vulnerable Children and Climate Change Initiative (JAM-Initiative) has provided free medical check-ups for over 40 people in Pegi, Kuje area council, in celebration of International Women’s Day.
Speaking at the event, JAM-Initiative founder, Josie Mudasiru JP said the outreach aimed to emphasise the importance of women prioritizing their health, as it serves as the foundation for all other forms of empowerment.
“The medical outreach includes blood pressure checks, sugar and malaria tests, as well as free medications for beneficiaries,” she said.
She noted that this year’s outreach was organised in collaboration with Enycare Foundation, founded by Dr. Eniola Mudasiru-Dawodu, a U.S.-based medical doctor.
Dr. Adetoun Dally commended the initiative, praising the caregivers for their professionalism and the seamless organisation of the outreach.
A beneficiary, Mrs. Nimat Ibrahim, expressed excitement about participating, stating she was surprised to find that all tests and medications were completely free. She noted that the initiative would greatly benefit those unable to afford medical care.
In a statement, JAM-Initiative’s corporate affairs officer, Martha Yusuf Shibayan said the outreach was primarily targeted at women and children, though a few men also benefitted.
A total of 42 people signed the attendance register.
