The director-general of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo has summoned Air Peace over growing complaints of frequent flight delays and cancellations.
Speaking during a tense meeting with the airline’s management in Abuja over the weekend, Najomo urged the carrier to immediately improve its domestic operations and advised it to reduce its flight schedules to match the number of available aircraft in its fleet.
He stressed that while the NCAA remains supportive of local airlines, operators must strictly adhere to regulations and global aviation standards.
Air Peace representatives admitted to operational challenges but assured the authority they were working tirelessly to resolve the issues.
Najomo warned that the NCAA would intensify its oversight of all domestic airlines to ensure compliance with safety and service standards.
“The NCAA will not compromise on quality. Airlines must do better,” he said, reiterating the agency’s commitment to protecting passenger rights.
