The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted approval for Max Air to resume domestic flight operations following the successful completion of an economic and safety audit.

Max Air had voluntarily suspended its domestic operations for 90 days after experiencing a series of flight incidents. During this period, the NCAA conducted a comprehensive safety and economic audit to assess the airline’s compliance with aviation regulations.

The safety audit, carried out between February 26 and 28, 2025, involved a thorough review of Max Air’s organisation, operational procedures, personnel and aircraft. This evaluation ensured that the airline met the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023 and could safely return to service.

Following the audit’s positive outcome, Max Air is set to resume domestic flights at midnight on March 17, 2025.

The NCAA has assured the public that it will continue to closely monitor Max Air through an enhanced surveillance programme to ensure strict compliance with aviation safety standards.

The authority reiterated its commitment to upholding the highest safety measures, ensuring that all airlines operate in full compliance with national and international aviation regulations for the safety of passengers and the industry at large.
