The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has approved for Enugu Air to begin domestic flight operations in partnership with XEJET, pending the completion of Enugu Air’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC) process.

In a statement issued by the director of public affairs and consumer protection, Michael Achimugu the NCAA said the move aligns with the five-agenda of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, which prioritises the growth of indigenous airlines.

According to the statement, XEJET will operate scheduled commercial flights on behalf of Enugu Air, while ticket sales will be facilitated via the XEJET platform and can be accessed through a redirect on the official Enugu Air website.

“Enugu Air has designated XEJET as its operational partner, pending the conclusion of its AOC process. In line with this partnership, XEJET has completed a full variation process to integrate the EMB 170 aircraft into its Operations Specifications (OpsSpecs), following NCAA’s five-phase certification procedure,” the statement explained.

As a result, XEJET is now fully authorised to conduct scheduled commercial services under NCAA’s current operational guidelines.

The NCAA reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a supportive regulatory environment that empowers indigenous carriers, encourages fair competition, and maintains the highest standards of safety, security, and consumer protection in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
