The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has awarded accreditation to the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, as an Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) training provider.                                                                                                                                    The accreditation ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at NCAA’s headquarters in Abuja, aligning with the authority’s commitment to promoting efficiency while upholding safety standards.

This accreditation is historic, marking the first time ARFF training will be conducted domestically in Nigeria. It ensures consistent, high-quality ARFF training within the aviation industry, elevating safety and compliance standards across the sector.

The benefits extend beyond NCAA and NCAT. Enhanced ARFF training credibility increases NCAT’s reputation, boosts enrolment, and positions Nigeria as a competitive player in aviation training. Other benefits include positive foreign exchange influx, global recognition and increased funding eligibility. NCAT’s acting rector, Mr. Joseph Imalighwe commended the NCAA’s leadership for prioritising safety and regulatory compliance, pledging to uphold the high standards required by the accreditation.
