The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and Imose Technologies Ltd., a Nigerian tech company, are jointly launching made-in-Nigeria laptops and tablets, marking a new chapter in indigenous technology.
The 14-inch laptops and 10.5-inch tablets are produced under the NASENI brand, aligning with the agency’s mission to drive local industrialisation, promote local content and foster job creation. This initiative reflects President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda, which prioritises local content development to boost the economy.
The NASENI Zedon X-Pro laptop, equipped with a Core i5 processor and 14-inch screen, combines power with portability, catering to a diverse user base, including students and professionals. The 10.5-inch tablet is compact and versatile, making it ideal for document editing, video streaming and gaming.
NASENI’s executive vice-chairman and CEO, Khalil Suleiman Halilu described the collaboration as a step toward bridging Nigeria’s technological gap and reducing import dependency. “This partnership embodies our 3Cs principles of collaboration, creation and commercialisation. We are working with Imose Technologies to reduce importation costs and make NASENI a central player in Nigeria’s tech revolution,” Halilu said.
For Imose Technologies, the collaboration is an extension of its mission to address local needs through technology. “For a decade, we have focused on locally producing mobile and computing devices. Partnering with NASENI allows us to bridge the digital divide and improve access to technology for work and education,” noted Imose’s chairman, Osayi Izedonmwen.
Public institutions, private organisations and individuals interested in these products can place orders by emailing NASENI at sales@naseni.gov.ng. Together, NASENI and Imose embody a shared vision of innovation and nationalism, propelling Nigeria’s tech industry forward.
