The National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM), an agency of the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, is set to host a workshop aimed at revitalising technical and vocational education and training (TVET) for national development.
A statement signed by the agency’s public relations officer, Mr. Isaac Oluyi and made available to journalists today (November 1), said, the workshop being organized in a bid to engage TVET to address the rising unemployment amongst young people in Nigeria will hold between November 17 and 18, 2021, in Enugu.
The statement said the national workshop aims to discuss the challenges bedevilling TVET in Nigeria, to arrive at a holistic and sustainable solution; to provide a platform for networking, linkages and collaboration among TVET stakeholders and practitioners, among others.
It said the workshop will also feature the exhibition of innovative products from technical and vocational colleges, as well as vocational outfits across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria to further underscore the potential of technical and vocational education to revitalise the nation’s economy. It further said an array of seasoned experts and professionals are already lined up to interrogate how technical and vocational education can be better deployed to achieve sustainable development in Nigeria.
