The Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye has promised to partner with the Ekiti State governor, Mr Abidoun Oyebanji to “take Ekiti to the next level of development”.
He disclosed this today (October 31, 2022) when he visited Oyebanji at the Governor’s Office in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Adegoroye, who was out of the country when the governor was inaugurated earlier this month, said the visit was to felicitate with Oyebanji on taking the mantle of governance in the state.
“Unfortunately, I was absent at the inauguration of my brother, associate and friend of almost 30 years, His Excellency, Abiodun Oyebanji. So, I visited him at Ado Ekiti this morning for the first time.
“I recall that he was one of the first to visit and congratulate me on my assumption of office as Federal Minister a few months back. It is, therefore, expedient for me to do the same. We share a lot in common.”
The minister, who said he was convinced that Oyebanji has all it takes to take Ekiti to the next level of development, urged the people of the state to give him the same support accorded his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
While expressing optimism that Oyebanji will sustain and add to the legacies left by Fayemi, Adegoroye promised the support of the Federal Ministry of Transportation for the development of the state.
Responding, Governor Oyebanji thanked the minister for the visit, saying he was impressed with the activities of Adegoroye since he became a member of President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.
Oyebanji, who relished the long-standing friendship between with Adegoroye, said his administration will work with the minister to develop the state, including the reconstruction of the Akure-Ado Ekiti Road.
