Festus Keyamo, SAN, has officially resumed his role as Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, following his swearing-in ceremony by President Bola Tinubu on Monday, August 21, 2023, at the Presidential Villa’s banquet hall in Abuja.
Addressing the attendees during the reception at the ministry, Keyamo emphasised the significance of transparency, team spirit and selflessness in achieving the objectives set for him by the president in the sector. He expressed his commitment to maintaining the progress made in the aviation sector and enhancing the operational methods.
“I am people-oriented and my aim is to satisfy the people,” Keyamo affirmed.
Earlier, the permanent secretary in the ministry, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole conveyed the delight of the ministry’s directors and staff regarding Keyamo’s assumption of office. He conveyed their readiness to collaborate with the minister to uphold the positive work initiated by the president in the aviation sector.
“We know you are here to continue the good work of Mr. President as it concerns the aviation sector, and we assure you of our commitment to delivering our mandate,” stated Meribole.
The ministry’s union chairman, Hector Nnadi was optimistic about Keyamo’s performance as the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, as he highlighted his track record and youthful energy as indicators of his potential success in the role. Nnadi anticipated that the minister’s dedication would lead to commendable achievements in the aviation and aerospace sector.
