The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN, has been honoured once again as Minister of the Year 2024, this time by the Board of Editors of The Sun Newspapers.
This prestigious recognition, received within a week of a similar award, highlights his remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s aviation sector and his transformative leadership in the industry.
The award was presented to Keyamo by chairman of CIG Motors Limited, Ms. Diana Chen during a glamorous ceremony held over the weekend in Lagos. The event attracted top executives from the corporate world, oil and gas industry, banking sector and political circles, all gathered to celebrate excellence across various fields.
Accompanying the minister to the event were key aviation officials, including permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana; Director-general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo; Managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku and director-general of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET), Prof. Charles Anosike.
Also in attendance were directors from NCAA and FAAN, including Mrs. Anastasia Gbem, Mahmood Abdullahi, Obiageli Orah, Debola Agunbiade, Ayo Olatiregun, Igbafe Afegbai, Jensen Asaba, Henry Agbebire and Lekan Ladipo Thomas.
This second accolade within a short span underscores Keyamo’s dedication to aviation reforms, infrastructure development, and policy innovations. His tenure has been marked by bold initiatives aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading aviation hub in Africa.
