The immediate past executive vice chairman of the National Agency for Science, Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Prof. Mohammed Haruna, has called for support for the newly-appointed EVC of the agency, Dr. Bashir Gwandu, to help the agency continue to progress and develop.
In a statement made available to Science Nigeria today, Haruna expressed his confidence in the staff’s cooperation and dedication to the success of NASENI under the administration of Bola Tinubu.
“I urge the research and development teams and all others involved to remain steadfast and fully committed to our original targets and delivery timelines,” stated Haruna. “As a research professor and a proud member of NASENI until November 2028, I assure you that I will continue to support and provide quality services to the agency.”
Haruna also took the opportunity to congratulate the managing directors of NASENI institutes who contributed significantly during his tenure. He applauded the successful completion of their terms and extended his best wishes to the newly appointed managing directors of various institutes under NASENI.
Furthermore, Haruna called upon local and international partners, as well as stakeholders, including companies that hold shares in NASENI, to rally behind Gwandu’s administration. Collaboration and support from these entities will be instrumental in achieving the agency’s goals.
With the appointment of Gwandu as the EVC, NASENI anticipates continued growth and advancement in research and innovation, driving Nigeria’s progress in science and engineering. The agency looks forward to leveraging the expertise and dedication of its staff and fostering fruitful partnerships with stakeholders to achieve transformative results for the nation.
