The Ferdnand Foundation International, a non-profit organisation, has restated its dedication to providing comprehensive support to underserved and vulnerable populations in the country.
President of the foundation, Dr. Ferdnand Osuagwu shared this commitment during an interview with journalists in Abuja.
Osuagwu emphasised that the foundation’s programmes target widows, orphans, the elderly, individuals with mental health issues and substance abusers. “Through impactful programmes, the foundation aims to ensure that these marginalised groups have equal access to resources, healthcare and education,” he stated.
He elaborated on the foundation’s mission to bridge gaps in access to resources, healthcare, education and justice for marginalised groups, enabling them to realise their full potential and contribute to society. “The foundation’s early-stage initiatives have already made significant impacts on widows, women and children in underserved communities, providing them with essential resources and empowerment,” Osuagwu noted.
The foundation recently hosted the maiden edition of the Ferdnand Foundation International Annual Scholars Award 2024 in Imo. This award ceremony aims to motivate students from marginalised backgrounds, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to education and empowerment.
Addressing the critical issue of mental health, Osuagwu highlighted the foundation’s efforts to advance mental health awareness and combat climate change through community-based interventions and advocacy. “We will be raising awareness about mental health because it is essential and reduces stigma and discrimination,” he explained.
Through these initiatives, the Ferdnand Foundation International continues to make a positive impact on marginalised communities, striving to ensure equal opportunities and support for those in need.
