
The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Kana has convened an interactive session with international airline operators and key private sector stakeholders ahead of the Nigeria International Air Show scheduled for December 2025.
According to a statement by the ministry’s head of press and public relations, Odutayo Oluseyi the permanent secretary described the engagement as vital for unveiling new opportunities in Nigeria’s aviation industry while reinforcing public-private partnerships essential for sustainable growth.
“The aviation industry is a critical driver of economic development,” Kana said. “We are optimistic that the upcoming air show will not only attract new investments but also strengthen existing collaborations.”
Kana noted that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is committed to transforming the aviation sector and has welcomed the initiative, which is being led by the private sector. He added that the Nigeria International Air Show would stimulate economic activity and restore confidence in Nigeria’s readiness to engage in global business.
He called on airline operators to embrace the initiative, take ownership of the process and contribute to its overall success.
Delivering a presentation during the meeting, the CEO of the Nigeria International Air Show, Bria Williams expressed appreciation to the ministry for providing a befitting secretariat for the project. She emphasised that the initiative seeks to showcase Nigeria’s potential on the global aviation stage, strengthen the national economy and attract more private sector partnerships.
Williams also noted that the air show will address regional connectivity gaps, promote intra-African trade, boost tourism and investment, expand aviation infrastructure and foster stronger collaboration between the financial and aviation sectors.
International airline operators and private sector representatives in attendance included ValueJet, Air France, Badr Airlines, Royal Air Maroc and Turkish Airlines – all of whom pledged their commitment to supporting Nigeria’s first international Air Show and contributing to its success.
