The Federal Ministry of Environment has commended the immediate past director-general of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), Dr. Rufus Ebegba for his exceptional performance during his tenure.
The commendation was conveyed in a letter signed by the Minister of Environment, Barr. Mohammed Abdullahi on April 28, 2023.
The minister acknowledged Ebegba’s “outstanding” stewardship and leadership, which demonstrated an uncommon passion for biosafety, biosecurity and biotechnology in Nigeria. The letter expressed the ministry’s pride in the achievements made in the sector under his guidance and hoped for his continued success in future endeavours.
Ebegba served as DG/CEO of the NBMA from 2015 to 2023 and handed over to the new director-general, Dr. Yemisi Asagbra in a recent ceremony.
